PREVENTIVE MEDICAL CHECK UP

The preventive medical check-up offers all persons (insured or uninsured) over the age of 18 residing in Austria a comprehensive free examination program once a year. This examination is free of charge in my elective doctor's office.

The preventive examination provides important information about the general state of health. Thus, chronic diseases can be detected at an early stage and possible risk factors can be minimized by taking appropriate measures.

Two appointments are necessary. At the first appointment, blood is taken and sent to the laboratory together with a urine sample for examination. A second appointment is made to discuss the laboratory findings and to perform the remaining basic examinations.

The health check includes:

• Detailed medical history with recording of risk factors
• Detailed physical examination
• Blood sample
• Urinalysis
• check your vaccination card
• Examination of the stool for blood (from the age of 50)
• ECG
